Portable Field Scanner.
Capture a specimen with the optical sensor of your issued Android PFS.100 device. This first contact date is logged, optionally set a 'termination' date for when the specimen should be discarded.
Completely offline and private. All processing and storage happens within the unit.
Proven reliability in off-planet mining sites for tracking food supplies in FR-1DGE units.

Functional overview
Scan
Hold the optic towards a previously enrolled specimen to recall its records.
Enrol
Add a new specimen by slowly rotating it in front of the optical sensor. Enter additional data.
Alert
PFS.100 has alert functions to when the specimen is near termination date.
In the field
Field licence
Evaluation — free
Every unit works fully and may hold one specimen record. Scan, enrol, read records and set alerts, with no time limit.
Full licence
One-time purchase through Google Play removes the limit: unlimited specimens. No subscription, no ads.
Precision equipment
Like all precision field scanning devices for cross-planetary use, PFS.100 is delicate. You may observe the optical system degrade or suffer from magnetic interference.
Percussive maintenance can help to recalibrate its components. Lightly knock the PFS.100 to rectify. Be wary to never hit, drop, or expose the PFS.100 to sulfurous environments. All operators are responsible for the safe handling of the device.
Good to know
- PFS.100 tracks the dates you enter. It does not judge whether anything is safe to eat, meet or use.
- A match is a similarity reading, not a certainty. Check with your own eyes.
- If precision is poor, try enrolling the specimen without visual clutter.
Private by design
No uplink
The unit does not transmit any specimen data. All storage and processing is within the confines of the PFS.100
Homo sapiens
A dangerous species, PFS.100 has built-in protection for enrolling these lifeforms as a specimen.
